Hello.
I've been wanting to install some deb files but found my Fienix install doesn't have a desktop package manager. It has Synaptic but it won't handle debs. In the least I can't see a way to open debs with it. All debs open up in Egrampa and it won't let me use Synaptic. I'm a bit lost here. I tried looking for some things in Synaptic but nothing showed up. Is there some kind of software centre? Do I need to add some repos? I can only see three in the list.
Fienix package manager?
Re: Fienix package manager?
You can install deb packages with the command dpkg -i as root.

Re: Fienix package manager?
I tried dpkg and yes it works but it doesn't work from the desktop. I'm after a desktop frontend so I can open a file on the desktop and install it that way.
