Just for info. Xorg doesn't start anymore on Ubuntu 10.04 if you use new kernels. If you want to use Xorg on Ubuntu 10.04, then please use the stable longterm kernel 5.10. I don't know if the new kernels work with Xorg on Ubuntu 12.04.

@All
Could you please test the RC5 of kernel 5.13 with Ubuntu 12.04?

The oldest I have on my system is Ubuntu 9.10. It's a copy of the XE install I have from when I hacked the installer to boot on the XE. Surprisingly it booted fine on my X1000 with a newer kernel. I keep kernel 4.19 around to boot it. but haven't done so in a while.

I have good news and bad news on RC5. Good is that I'm running Fienix now on the 5.13 RC5 kernel with no issues.

Code: Select all

fienix@Fienix:~$ uname -r
5.13.0-rc5_A-EON_X1000_Nemo
Bad is that Ubuntu 12.04 breaks. Technically it boots. But it ends in a low gfx mode.

I'm sure 5.11 was working but I didn't make any notes. I can test it. What happened to 5.12? I don't have one installed.

Hi Hypex,

Thanks a lot for testing the RC5. :-) Please test the kernel 5.11 with Ubuntu 12.04. Xorg doesn't work anymore on Ubuntu 10.04.4 since the kernel 5.11.

Cheers,
Christian

OK, Thanks a lot for testing. That means, since kernel 5.12 there are some issues with Xorg on Ubuntu 12.04 and since kernel 5.11, Xorg doesn’t work anymore on Ubuntu 10.04.

Since kernel 5.13 there are some issues with KVM HV on the X5000.

I think we need the stable longterm kernel 5.10 longer.

Testing the RC6 here now on Fienix and working fine.

I notice on your page you have dead links. Or unborn links perhaps haha. Are these place holders for when the kernel is uploaded?

A little while back I was trying to download a few kernels and kept getting dead links. So figured they were early place holders. ;-)
