Re: Kernel 5.12
Hi Musa,
Thanks a lot for testing the alpha4! Does Xorg start faster with the kernel 5.11?
I tested the alpha4 in a virtual e5500 QEMU machine today.
Cheers,
Christian

Re: Kernel 5.12
Yes, the same behavior on my X1000. The login in Fienix is faster on my X5000.
Sorry because of the false statement of the boot issue. It was too late yesterday. If I understand it correctly then the position of the PCIE devices scan is at a new place. Therefore it doesn't work anymore. It has nothing to do with the device tree adoption.

Re: Kernel 5.12
Compilation error (alpha6):
I have found the bad commit: Merge tag 'kbuild-v5.12' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/masahiroy/linux-kbuild
The changes in the Makefile are responsible for the compiling errors: a/Makefile
I was able to revert this bad commit.
After that the alpha6 compiled without any problems.
I reported this issue to the kernel developers today.
