Thanks for all your help. And thanks for Worker. I tried to compile the latest code (3.15.4) myself and it succeeded but something went wrong because I couldn't read the text in the program. Now I use your 3.3.3-2 instead

Please try a msdos partition table. You can create it with GParted.
Instructions:
Open gparted
Use the menu on the right side of the toolbar to select the CF card
Click the Device menu, then click Create Partition Table
Select new partition table type: msdos
Click Apply
Choose the Partition menu, then New
Enter the following options: Free space preceding: 1; New size: 128; File system: fat16; Label: NEMOBOOT
Click Add button
In the toolbar, click the check mark for “Apply All Operations”
Click the Apply button
After all operations have completed, click the Close button

I tried this first for 3.9GB Fat16 filesystem and then exactly according your steps - 128M.
No success. NEMOBOOT cfcard always visible with Debian8/kernel 4.2 and not visible under Fienix/kernel 5.0,5.1.

Next I will try my old (slower) cfcard, and also test every kernel from 4.2 to 5.0.

Yes when i updated Fienix I find Arctic Fox 27.9.15.
I now have downloaded 27.9.16 .
I noticed that Arctic Fox can load firefox bookmarks backup
