Yes update but not upgrade.
I can't upgrade from 15.10 to 16.04 and not from 16.10 to 17.04

Update instructions for (X)(L)ubuntu (MATE)

Code: Select all

sed -i 's/yakkety/zesty/g' /etc/apt/sources.list

Code: Select all

apt-get update
Has this apt-get update found any repositories?

I do not know what was wrong but my ubuntu 16.10 is just starting to upgrade to 17.04. I will return when it is finished.

Hi Musa,

Fantastic! Good luck! Please post your result in the (X)(L)ubuntu (MATE) 17.04 Zesty Zapus thread.

Hi All,

A new update of the stable longterm kernel 4.1 is available.

New:
Download: vmlinux-4.1.38-AmigaONE_X1000.tar.gz

Screenshot of ubuntu MATE 17.04 PowerPC with the new stable longterm kernel 4.1.38:

The kernel 4.1 is very different to the latest mainline kernels (kernel 4.9 and 4.10). If you have problems with the latest mainline kernels, please try the stable longterm kernel 4.1.

Cheers,
Christian

Hi All,

I compiled the new stable longterm kernel 4.1.40 including the BFQ I/O scheduler today.
BFQ loads programs extremely fast under heavy disk I/O activity. It achieves up to 30% higher throughput than CFQ on hard disks with most parallel workloads, and about the same throughput with the rest of the workloads we have considered. BFQ achieves the same throughput as CFQ, NOOP, DEADLINE and SIO on SSDs.
New:
Download: vmlinux-4.1.40-AmigaONE_X1000.tar.gz

Please note: The kernel 4.1 is very different to the latest kernels (kernel 4.11 and 4.12). If you have any problems with the latest kernels, please try the stable longterm kernel 4.1.

Cheers,
Christian
