Hi Christian
Boot with one error and I have to login via terminal and restart lightdm
I don't think this i because of the Kernel.
The error Was : [drm:.btc_dpm_set_power_state] *ERROR*rv770_restrict_performance_levels_before_switch failed.
I only get software renderer.
This is Ubuntu 14.04 XFCE .
I got a Ubuntu mate 16.04 working perfect but not tested with this kernel.

Hi Musa,

Thanks a lot for testing the stable longterm kernel 4.1.23. :-)

With which graphics card did you test the kernel 4.1.23? Could you please test your Xubuntu 14.04 with the native compiled longterm kernel 4.1.21?

Download: vmlinux-4.1.21-AmigaONE_X1000.tar.gz

@All
Please test also the new longterm kernel 4.1.23 because I want to know if you have problems with Lightdm/X11 as well.

Thanks in advance,

Christian

Hi Christian
My graphics card is a Radeon 6870
You can see the output from the boot in foto 1 .
This time i don't have to restart lightdm but as usual wake up the login screen with ctrl alt f1 and then ctrl alt f7 . Ubuntu 14.04 has always been like this.
!5.10 16.04 and Debian 8 start normal

Musa,

Thanks a lot for your answer. It's good to know that 15.10, 16.04, and Debian 8 start normal with the longterm kernel 4.1. :-) Did you test them with the longterm kernel 4.1.23 as well or only with the 4.1.21?

Many thanks for testing.

Cheers,

Christian

Hi Christian,

Due to glitches found. I resolved one of them by replacing my ATAPI optical drive SATA cable. Removed the IDE hard drives completely, SATA header speed and I'm sure bus speed increased as well.
Asus R7 250X shows signs of graphical glitch during initial CFE booting. I will be looking for a Southern Islands replacement more compatible and one that other Amigans are having and have been having success with.

Would you have particular Southern Islands GPU models that would give me a start in my search based on others' success? Thanks.

Cheers!!

John

I'm sorry, I use only my XFX Radeon HD6870 (Northern Island GPU).
