I also removed my PCI soundcard some time ago.

No, I did my HDD install from the Remix DVD, rather than one of the other (difficult) methods. And the Kernel in on the CF card.
xeno74 wrote:That's strange. I've tested the RC 2 with Ubuntu 10.04.4, Lubuntu 12.04.4, and with Lubuntu 14.04 and the sound works very well. But I'm very curious why it doesn't work for you. Is another sound card installed in your A1-X1000?
Oops! Yes there is a SoundBlaster left over from the OS4.1 pre-AudioHD days. It doesn't seem to interfere with the other kernels, though.
Please install pavucontrol (PulseAudio Volume Control) with the following command:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install pavucontrol
After that, you have to start pavucontrol and select your output sound device.

Good luck!

It also seems the there is no need to use "radeon.dpm=0" in the bootargs for kernel 3.13.1 onwards .
Could someone test it, please?

Thanks in advance!

Have you tested with the RadeonHD5450?

Tested your new kernel 13.3.2 without Radeon.dpm=0 command and it appears to work well with RadeonHD 6870 installed.

Left my AmigaONE X1000 running all evening, with glxgears, VLC video and SuperTuxKart running all OK.

Next will test 3.14-rc2

Update: No Radeon.dpm=0 argument in the bootargs setup.

Your new 3.14-rc2 kernel also appears to load and run OK with my Live Ubuntu Remix HDD installation. (again RadeonHD 6870 card installed) :-)
