Kernel 3.12

Post by xeno74 »

Hi all,

The Linux 3.12 kernel was released yesterday: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=n ... px=MTUwMzA. I have modified a bit Darren's patch and compiled the kernel 3.12.

Download: vmlinux-3.12.0AmigaOneX1000.tar.bz2

Well done Christian. I presume 3d gfx acceleration and all other AmigaONE X1000 specific devices work OK with the new Kernel?

I will start testing later in the week.

Hi Trevor,

Yes, that's right. The 3D gfx acceleration and sound works on my AmigaOne X1000. Could you also test the kernel 3.11, please?

All the best,

Christian

Christian,

Posting from the Remix Installation using Darren's 3.11 kernel. All OK :-)

I will try with your 3.12 kernel next.

3.12 is working OK with Wheezy.

I would ask if you could please increase the number of serial ports to 4.
It should have no effect if only the 2 onboard ports are available.

Looks good.

I get 2 error Messages at Boot Time that the Kernel could not load 2 Kernel Modules from /lib/modules/3.12.....

loop is one Module.

Please release 3.12 Kernel_Modules too as it is in the 3.11er Package.

Here you are: vmlinux-3.12.5AmigaOneX1000.tar.gz :)

New:

- added modules directory
- It based on the bug fix version of the vanilla kernel 3.12.5
- added kernel modul for 3Dfx video cards

Have a lot of fun with the new kernel. :)

Does someone tested a 3dfx voodoo card in the A1-X1000?
