X1000 RadeonHD5450 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2-PC2-8500 Kingston HyperX 5-5-5-5-15 OS4.1.6 & Lubuntu13.04/mintppc11 with Kernel 3.8.7/3.9
Re: Kernel 3.9
That looks better. Well done. when patching in the future try the following:xeno74 wrote:Hi Darren,
Thank you for your answer. You're right with the patch of patch_sigmatel.c. I've created a new patch and a new kernel
Downloads:
kernel-3.9.0-2-x1000.tar.gz
nemo_3.9v2.patch.tar.gz
Regards,
Xeno
patch -p1 -s <patch-file
the -s prevents patch from printing out successfully patched files, it will then be easier to see failed patches. (If there are any)
Thats how I patch, and I somes do a dry run as well.
Regards
Darren

so i get the kernel first & then run the patch to modify the kernel? or what's the story as I really need to0 get my Linux partitions working again
A1-X1000 setup: Corsair GS800 800w PSU, Western Digital 250 GB SATA HDD (model:WD2500YS), 4GB Ram, Radeon HD7950-3GB GDDR5- Dual Slot, Lite-On RW DVD/CD, On-Board Nemo sound,8139B NIC, Catweasel MK4+
Re: Kernel 3.9
The patch is for building the kernel. You need only "kernel-3.9.0-2-x1000.tar.gz". Please copy the kernel to the cf card. And copy the modules directory (3.9.0X1000) to /lib/modules.328gts wrote:

Most stable one meaning one that I won't have to waste time reinstalling again for a while LOLxeno74 wrote:Which Linux distribution would you like to install?328gts wrote:@xeno74

Oh and has 3d acceleration for my 6850

Re: Kernel 3.9
I recommend Lubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. It's very stable and has 3d acceleration. It also has new Mozilla software like Firefox 22.0 and Thunderbird 17.0.7. If you install Lubuntu then the X1000 feels like a PC.328gts wrote:Most stable one meaning one that I won't have to waste time reinstalling again for a while LOLxeno74 wrote:Which Linux distribution would you like to install?328gts wrote:@xeno74
