So you could do a multi-zone sound system if you put amp/speakers in another room. :D

I am also using both the SB Live card and the HDAudio in my X1000, mainly to use the SB's input and also its MIDI interface. I have not done close A/B comparison scrutiny, but the onboard audio playback sounds very nice to my ears.

It is one of the best, if not THE best, on-board/integrated sound
systems I have ever listened to. Most of them 'sound' digital,,,
if you know what I mean.

When I hook the 5.1 speakers to it I set AHI Volume to -9db for
best sound on that system.
