After updating to Intuition library (53.42) via AmiUpdate, my X1000 stopped while booting at the Amiga OS 4.1 splash screen and hanged there. I tried several reboots, power off/on etc... but the behaviour is the same each time.
I've rolled back to version 53.35 and the machine boots as normal again.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this?
Thanks.

Try disabling ClickToFront in WBStartup prefs.

Thanks Simon, I tried this but unfortunately it's still hanging in the same way.Rigo wrote:Try disabling ClickToFront in WBStartup prefs.

Re: X1000 hangs at boot splash screen after Intuition lib up
The problem seems to be related to my A-EON AmigaOne branded mouse.
With Intuition library 53.42:
1. If the mouse is plugged in (any port), the machine does not boot.
2. If the mouse is not plugged in, the machine boots okay. I can then plug in the mouse, it gets detected and works as expected.
3. If I plug in a USB hub and then attach the mouse to that, the machine boots up okay.
With Intuition library 53.35:
The X1000 boots into Amiga OS 4.1 every time with the mouse plugged in.

Have you tried with another mouse and seen different results?Simon wrote:The problem seems to be related to my A-EON AmigaOne branded mouse.
Best regards,

I haven't tried yet as I don't have another USB mouse to hand (just the Ps/2 type). I will try to acquire one sometime this week and report back the results.nbache wrote:Have you tried with another mouse and seen different results?

Re: X1000 hangs at boot splash screen after Intuition lib up
Not sure if this is related, but after installing Update6-53-10.lha also my X1000 hangs on the splash screen. Unplugging the USB Devices did not
help in my case, though, so it might be a different issue. Booting from a Update 5 Install CD worked fine, I am now reinstalling from that CD and see if then it runs again. If this issue with the splash screen is not cleared up in the meanwhile, I would be up to testing new versions and such.
