Hi,
Every since I purchased my SAM 460 back in April of last year whenever I perform a soft-reset (aka via the keyboard) when it reboots and the Workbench screen appears I often hear this high-pitch sound and then a complete freeze. This has always happened even prior to their being any sound drivers being released from Acube.
This coupled with the fact that the beta sound drivers do not work on hard-reset/or when powering-up 90% of the time either resulting in me having to warm-reboot or soft-reboot multiple times in order to get sound working.
And just to make this more clear, I have tried commenting out ;C:Soundplayer from the start-up sequence and the lock-up and high-pitch sound still occurs.
So I want to know what is going to be done about both of these outstanding issues - its been nearly a year now.
SAM460: 90% of the time crashes during soft-reset

Unlike a lot Amiga users I don't meddle stuff I shouldn't be so no.

I guess the question is: Have any beta-testers been able to reproduce your problem? Nothing can be done about it until that happens.

Does the reset crash problem happen with a *clean* install of AmigaOS4? If you have not tried (reinstalling OS4), then simply booting OS4 from it's install CD (or memory card?) should be sufficient for testing.
edit: One beta-tester tells me he does not experience any crashes with soft resets. He has a Sam460 with 2GB RAM, a RadeonHD 4650, and a PCI SATA card. What hardware do you guys have?

Another area to look at might be their network set ups.

I would go with Chris' advice and either try to set up a clean partition or comment out WBStartup and user-startup and slowly add programs back to see if that changes anything.
Maybe it's as simple as a third-party program failing
