Sam440Flex PCI-PCIe 8112 With SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 550 2Gb

Post by amigadad »

In light of the new Enhancer 2.0 release. Will the Radeon RX driver work with the PCI-PCie 8112 chip and also provide the advantage of graphic card hardware acceleration?

If it will then I would gladly buy a $250 CAD SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 550 card for my beloved Sam440Flex Rev2

Before I purchase it I would like some assurance that it will work and improve video playback on my machine.

Of course I would have to purchase a vertical GPU mount and cable in order to use the full height card.

I have a USB3 XHCI controller card in PCI format that uses an 8112 bridge chip for the PCI-Ex1 USB3 chip to connect to the system,
the bridge controller is stable and apparently autoconfigured during the OS startup without any issues...

So I think your graphics card options with the bridge controller present may just work with the existing drivers and autoconfig setup...

Don't take my word for it though... see if you can sort out testing the desired setup someway first.

The above is just my opinion.
