Most likely just incompatible RAM. Unless you purchased that stick from krach or Mr. Hardware it likely will not work. Even worse, you think it works.

The best fix for this problem is to buy an AmigaOne 500. At least, that is what I did and never looked back.

Actually now that I think about it, mine only has 512MB and I tried acquiring all sorts of 1GB simms and nothing worked properly

I remember one day I turned my AmigaOne on and was greeted with a black screen. I mucked around with it for about half an hour and decided bugger it. I put it away and carried on using my A4000 PPC running AmigaOS4.x until my first Sam arrived, the rest is history :-D
Hrm, well, if we could find a common platform would both of you agree that getting an X1000 is as good (maybe "better") as getting an AmigaOne 500? :-)

Because i can only spare that much money and the X1000 is top of the list

This behaviour has been fixed by downgrading the RAM to 512 MB.

Thank you ssolie

I guess this is why I could never get 1GB running! You just got unlucky, you almost got there! :)

and yes, the X1000 gets my vote, I am still looking at the AmigaOne 500 though, since I don't have one of that model! ;)
