OK, I've found my ROM burner and my A4000 version of 3.1.4. I haven't taken the lid off the A4000, yet, but searching the web tells me that the two ROMs are marked A and B on the motherboard.

In the downloads, there are two folders; 'to_burn' and 'unsplit_unswapped'. I assume the latter is something to do with Amiga Forever and the ones I want are in the former folder.

Is the file for the A ROM the 'hi' file or the 'lo' file?

Put the “LO” ROM into the left socket labeled U176 and the “HI” ROM into the right socket labeled
U175. The notches on the ROM chips must face to the left of the computer.

Be careful: Wrong orientation of the ROMs can damage the chips or even your machine!
