amigaOS 4.1 FE and A4000 64mb Hack

Post by reflex79 »

i finally was able to install AmigaOS 4.1FE on my Amiga 4000, had to unplug the whole SCSI chain so used the IDE port.
I have both Pio2 hack and 64mb hack.

I was able to install properly, the system boots from CD nicely and complete the installation but then ì boot from the IDE device (an SD industrial memory) i get the error message attached.

What could be the problem?
Pio2 hack, 64mb hack or what else?

if system-startup is a script, like startup-sequence, you could place a
"set echo on"
on top of it and see where it stops.

it looks like some program started from within the script is crashing

i'm just guessing here but i remember failing the first time i attempted to install os4 classic many years ago and probably ended up with something similar.

The problem was that i failed to install the filesystem properly, i think i wrongly assumed that media toolbox would add sfs to the rdb.
