Supported and tested hardware database

Post by vox »

We need a list of tested and supported cards anyway, Intuition base support list is old, AmiKit list from OS4 purchase is Classic hardware oriented and AmigaWelt.de used to have better database just in German. Some scattered info on USB Cards, HD Radeons exist here, on RadeonHD dev site, some are just put to OS4 depot etc.
but not a centralized place.

Idea where to put it? To OS4 depot? Hyperion website? Other community website?
Beta testers can be a great help here, since a lot of people probably have various cards around.

General but ironic joke -> now we have made a transition to driver model and PCI bus,
there are no cards we can use (we support very few cards ...)

Also, for developers are there any helps how to make AHI/CGX etc. drivers for AmigaOS / OS4 specific?

There is a list of tested hardware made by us (beta testers) but it's for internal use only. I can tell you that the list is not very useful for the rest of the AOS4 users right now.

I agree that the big list of AOS4 compatible hardware is needed and in my opinion the AmigaOS site (http://www.amigaos.net/) would be the right place for the list.

Thank you for the reply. Well, list of tested and working hardware (at list at chips level) would be most beneficiary to the users.
Hope it will be done. Surely, should be on Amigos.net

If you or someone else has composed the list, it can be send to the AmigaOS.net administrator through the contact form: http://www.amigaos.net/contact.

There is a basic list at http://www.intuitionbase.com/comphard.php but its very old. Surely some aspects have been added,
e.g. like Classic hardware support

One man can`t do it, and it should be listed within the OS. We know basics e.g. ATI cards, but what about sound cards, disk controllers, USB Cards ...

Surely boards are supported, but does that mean that e.g. same sound chip as seen on SAM 460 can be used as PCI card?

Most detailed list (a bit buggy) is found at Acube website https://acube-systemsbiz.serversicuro.i ... ity_41.php
or for Classic hardware at OS 4.0 times http://acube-systems.biz/compatibility/index.php or at Vesalia http://www.vesalia.de/e_amigaos4.htm

Should be centralised and clear list, also bundled with OS.
