UnArc crash with broken archive

Today i found another problem, i downloaded a big RAR archive (300 MB or so) with tons of avi files inside of it, but as it was broken i didn't be able to open it, instead i get a DSI crash and then a ISI one when i skip the first ...

It was a bit strange because in general i can be able to open such broken archive files, so i try with another unfinished "broken" archive (a RAR file with a couple of big images) and this time all goes well ..

But that RAR with video inside give me always the same type of crash, aniway maybe i need to do more experiment with other pretty similar archive (a RAR archive with videos) to be sure that the problem is caused by the file format inside the archive ..

For now plz check the logs

You need to check to see if you are using the rar module shipped with the OS, or the 3rd party one from os4depot.

Either way, the xpkmaster.library, and it's modules are supplied as a contribution, so there's little that can be done by the OS developers.

I can confirm this.As soon as you unpack an incomplete rar archive,freezes the sytem

Can you please make sure to quote considerately. Reposting entire crashlogs is pointless and wastefull.

So who i need to ask ? who is the developer of this library ?

Somebody has mentioned this to me previously. My code does very little, just passes the data to Rar_Extractor. It will probably be a bug in Rar_Extractor (which is abandoned, I had serious trouble trying to get hold of the version I did, I got the impression the author removed it due to licensing concerns). The source code is in the archive, anybody is welcome to fix it.

The source code is there, but you will find the bug is in Rar_Extractor not xadmaster.

Well, if you are using a third party xad module, then this thread can be closed as the problem is not in the OS.
