The window of commodity Exchange is always opens at the top left .. there seems to be no way to open it in another predefined position on the Workbench, nor to save its position at all !
This was of course an old "issue" but still the same even with the latest version of the commodity availible in update 2
Is it possible to make the window positioning of Exchange saved automatically at quit ?

Re: Exchange window positioning
We already have an enhancement request in Bugzilla to add the function menu button to the title bar, including snapshot.
I added a link to this thread.
Of course, the usual disclaimers about when it might happen or not apply .
But at least, you're not alone.
Best regards,
Niels

Re: Exchange window positioning
Function menu is that ugly thing copied from MUI? ugh, no thank you.

@NinjaCyborg
Why not use Exchanger instead? It's a lot better, and controls both commodities and registered applications.The window of commodity Exchange is always opens at the top left
@NinjaCyborg
It's actually quite useful, especially if the application supports the new features such as window snapshotting or jumping between screens.Function menu is that ugly thing copied from MUI? ugh, no thank you.

Re: Exchange window positioning
I've yet to see one that didn't simply replicate options readily available elsewhere - in the window gadgets, in the menu etc.. Real waste of space.
Re: Exchange window positioning
As Exchange probably scans its tooltypes already, there would be a place.
Re: Exchange window positioning
If the user hides/quit it, it can store the position into the tooltypes for the next time it gets started.
Or even easier store it to an Env variable automatically.
Of course both needs changes at src level.

Re: Exchange window positioning
Even worse, it would require breaking a long-time Amiga standard of only snapshotting (or otherwise saving settings) on an explicit request of the user.
Just because in one session you find it practical to move a window somewhere doesn't mean that you want it there every time you open it in the future.
(I know MUI offers that possibility, but only if you have selected it in the local or global settings beforehand, not by default.)
Best regards,
Niels
