I am trying to set de default tool for every .lha and .7z file to sys:utilities/unarc in OS4.
Starting Unarc and selecting the .7z file works fine, but clicking the .7z file brings up the message: unkown datatype for file xxx.7z


For the 7z file XAD file I downloaded this: http://os4depot.net/index.php?function= ... xad_7z.lha and did this:

If you want a default icon, copy def_7zip.info to envarc:sys, and add the
following to DefIcons:

Filetype: 7zip
Match: 7zxBCxAF'x1C
--------------------------

Whats is going wrong ?

Don't know, check a sample file in a hex editor to see if that MATCH is correct.

Possible match on the file extention instead?

As .lha and .zip did not work either, I copied the original defcons.prefs from the OS4.1 cd back to my harddrive.

I then installed the deficon for the .7z xad and it worked immediatly on my .7z file.
Only the file extension is entered, not the 'match'.
