PartitionWizard doesn't work in FE

Post by chris »

PartitionWizard just gives an error "no partitions found". See attached screenshot.

What sort of machine is this on?
What device is it meant to be scanning?
How many units are connected to that device?
cheers

sii3114.device, although I couldn't see any configuration for that.
There are two physical device (HD and CD), with the HD split in multiple partitions (six or so).
Under OS4.1u6 it "just worked", I don't remember having to tell it what device to look at, I figured it scanned the mounted drives list.

@chris

I get the same thing on my Sam460. It doesn't display any partitions when run from AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition but works fine when run from Update 6. The version of PartitionWizard is the same on both installs.

BTW:
PartitionWizard is missing in the X1000 version of FE.
The readme and catalog files are there but the 3 files in SYS:Utilities are missing.

I tried to use the PartitionWizard from my FE 440ep disc, but it just opens a Requester "Could not open GUI." and then freezes the System after a click on ok.

Partition Wizard doesn't work on a X1000. That is the reason that is it not in FE included

Something must have changed in DOS I guess.

Tested it on my AmigaOne 500 aka SAM460ex under AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition. PartitionWizard appears empty, like rest of you.

Can only hope this will be corrected in an update through AmiUpdate, when AmiUpdate itself is fixed. Right now AmiStore fails to connect to its' servers. See own threat about AmiUpdate.

I just wanted to confirm this and also add that the program attempts to scan the device, but it just hangs for a few seconds and then the search ends without any findings. If I'm not mistaken, PartitionWizard itself hasn't changed (and before the FE it was working perfectly), so the problem is in the underlying drivers.
Configuration:
* A1 XE G4
* Sil3512
* SSD
* SFS0
