Update3 USB Hub+Mouse issue

I have resolved this by replacing a hardware accessory so it's not an urgent issue but may have some bearing on USB issues that others are reporting.

When I installed Update3 and rebooted, I ended up with a RinghIO requester (because I keep my SYS: partition write protected (lock) in user-startup) and no working mouse. I used the keyboard to cancel the requester, disable RinghIO in WBStartup and rebooted. The mouse still didn't work after a warm reboot. It works after a system reset but stops working if I perform a warm reboot. After some experimentation, I discovered that my unpowered hub no longer works (at least with a mouse). I replaced the hub with another one and now the mouse works. It doesn't make sense to me that the old hub+mouse works after a reset but then doesn't work after a warm reboot.
