I'm currently using an 8139 10/100 card in my x1k & would like to up-grade to
10/100/1000. I found a PCIe 8169 card & was wondering if anyone else is using a PCIe network
card & getting gigabit speeds.

You might add that the r9 270 (non-X) works fine in the x1000.

Changing the CF card from fat16 to fat32 would be an interesting experiment. My card is fat32 formated with my Linux kernel & I have no issues booting into os4 & no changes to my kicklayout file were required.

Un-formated CF card inserted most likely, pull it out to verify.

OS4 will only see 2GB, but Linux would see 4GB or more. Pardon my ignorance on the subject but how can Linux running on a 32 bit processor with 2GB memory space see 4GB? I have 4GB installed & 2 spare 1GB sticks, Linux showed I had 6GB when I installed those, as Lyle said... Also both cores wor...

I have a 4gb x1000 with 4.1.6/FE and LinuxPPC, honestly don't waste your time and money. OS4 memory limit is around 1,3 gb (don't trust the documentation and the os4-team, 2gb used ram is unreachable on OS4, you will freeze before) and 2gb is far than enough for LinuxPPC.
