Re: Compositing kills SDL/MiniGL performance on the WB scree

I changed the WB screen to 640*480*32bit mode and game is still way too slow (like 3 FPS), when compositing is enabled. I will try to implement 16-bit textures next.

Checked also the monitor icon and interrupts are enabled. That's INTERRUPTS=Yes, right?

Re: Compositing kills SDL/MiniGL performance on the WB scree

Textures used by the game are quite small, 2 are 500 KB and one is 1000 KB. I could try 16-bit versions of course.

Can I somehow get some statistics from VRAM usage (fragmentation, paging)?

If graphics.library still uses an ancient pager, should there be a ticket for improving it?

Silly things kill SDL/MiniGL performance on the WB screen

I have a simple 2D game that renders with SDL+MiniGL (Sam440ep + M9 Radeon). Game is playable on both 16/32-bit custom screen, or 16-bit WB screen, but if I change my WB to 32-bit mode with compositing effects, frame rate drops from playable to ~2. With no compositing enabled, performance is ok. I h...

Re: Manually loading shared object

Since nobody has an idea what's wrong here I've now requested a clib2 static link library build of SDL2: https://sourceforge.net/p/sdl2-amigaos4/tickets/29/ Let's hope that this materialises so that I can finally finish this plugin for OS4... It's possible to build libSDL2.a with -mcrt=clib2, but n...

Re: Manually loading shared object

I'm not able to build a helloworld with clib2, I get undefined reference to GetProgramName. http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.biz/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3194&hilit=getprogramname There's an updated build of clib2 on OS4Depot which should fix that issue: http://os4depot.net/index.php?functio...

Re: SDK 53.24 ... and followups

While recompiling my source, at least one change found: there is no IDOS->GetProgramName() anymore, but probably the new IDOS->GetCliProgramName() is renamed version. And there seems to be a change of application.library interface version needed according to autodoc. Both of these changes should be...

Re: SDK 2017 wishes

Personally I have been using Cmake recently. It has a couple of issues (no stack cookie and then some link issue with libDL IIRC) but they can be worked around easily. http://os4depot.net/index.php?function= ... /cmake.lha
