Re: Insufficient memory CFE error on some cold boots
A heat thing? Is 54 degrees a lot? I have two RadeonHD cards installed, so they by far are generating more heat than anything else in the case. I noticed the PowerColor 6850 single-slot card I have is very hot to the touch when running. The back plate for the slot below the 6850 was searing hot to ...

Re: OWB-MUI on X1000
You guys missed the real problem... Conf/font/fonts.conf, open it in NotePad & look at the end of line #26 <!-- Font directory list --> <dir>fonts:_TrueType</dir <------ missing close mark <dir>fonts:_TrueType</dir> <-----corrected The ">" marker is missing, so add it & save, this ...

Re: Printer for the X1000
Personally, I can't afford a $500 network color laser & I don't want a B/W only printer. I see network printers for under $100, so just wondering if anyone has a cheaper one working with the Amigas & PCs.

Re: OpenGL support for Radeon 9250 PCI on X1000
I Since I am new to OS4.x, please advise me on which is the best video card that is already supported to the fullest extent by the current OS4.x video card drivers. I want to set up a dual monitor, dual video card installation in my X1000 until the 3D video card drivers are completed for the Radeon...

Re: Radeon HD 6850 in X1000
Thanks, Trevor. I definitely do not have the latest then. Just found my version is PAS-2.0.30. Off to A-Eon site to download latest and install instructions. I've had a few oddball problems with graphics cards as I've attempted some things, and maybe the firmware has been the problem all along. Wil...

Re: CPU Speed
Yes. What ever I set CFE to, using both commands (which may not be necessary) is what Linux reports in /proc/cpuinfo. Interesting, don't think anyone has tried that test yet. I have tried 500, 800, and 1200MHz settings. I am using 39D kernel. I notice AOS loads slower and seems to do large cpu memo...

Re: CPU Speed
I just tried to change the os4 speed to 500MHz, but all that does is boot at 500MHz & changes to 1.8GHz after. There is no os4 file that changes it, think its a CFE h/w thing. If you're running linux squeeze, there was a setting to set the cpu speed higher & I believe the last linux kernel f...

Re: CPU Speed
I set the CPU speed to A1 (800M) but Ranger still reports 1800MHz. It is running slower. Is there another way to see CPU speed in AmigaOS? In CFE, type show pmu, that will show the current clock speed. You can't change it in os4, it defaults to 1.8GHz when fully booted. You can set a variable with ...

Re: DVPlayer that comes with X1000
I agree with Hans, well worth the money. There are some codecs DvPlayer doesn't support, but mui-mplayer fills the gaps.
