Re: Keyboard ignored

I can no longer do anything in Amiga OS4 with my keyboard That implies that in the past, it worked OK. Is that right? If so, what have you changed since then? Software doesn't go stale, although some hardware (batteries and things) wear out. If you were a betatester, you would be asked to backtrack...

Re: AmiDVD not recogonizing drive

Hi Paul,

AmiDVD will not run on later machines like the X5000 and A1222. The last machine it runs on is the X1000, and even there I have to revert to an old AmigaOS Final Edition version before AmiDVD will run.

Re: someone actually using the two ethernet ports on sam440ep ?

As far as I know, no one has ever tried to get both going. Certainly no support for two ports has ever been released for beta test.

Someone somewhere may have a project running, but I'm sure we would have heard of it.

Both my numbers are different, so I don't know what they mean. The information probably remains confidential.

Re: TP-LInk TG3468 randomizing mac address?

No, AmigaOS does not randomise MAC addresses. It reads the MAC address from U-Boot on boot, and it can't be changed.

Re: Transient boot problmes with X5000

I haven't had a battery fail in either of my X5000s, so I can't be certain, but with older machines like the XE/SE and X1000, the machine won't even run without a fresh battery IIRC.

It's not only the RTC that uses the battery.

Re: Mount X5000 NGFS in linux

Yes, Niels, you are right. Sorry.

Yes, you can use the NGFS-formatted volume on AmigaOS running on an A1222 (but not Linux). If your version of NGFS is the original supplied with the X5000 or the A1222, I'll give you an update to the latest version, just PM me with an email address.

Re: Mount X5000 NGFS in linux

The point is that the NGFS file structure bears no resemblance to anything that Linux supports. NGFS was designed to replace Amiga FFS. It would be possible to write a Linux handler to read and write NGFS file systems, but you would need a team of experts in each platform to make it work, and there ...

Re: Transient boot problmes with X5000

If it only plays up after being "off for a while", then the prime culprit is the battery.

My second choice would be the memory. Take out the memory card, clean the contacts with a soft eraser and clean the socket with a small brush.

My third choice would be PSU.

Re: X1000 not a fan!!

This is not a recommendation, and may be unsafe for those in hot environments, but... In all my NG Amigas, I run the fans at 7V, not 12V. The fan runs at about half the speed, but makes a quarter of the noise. It also lasts much longer before having to be removed for lubrication. (+ve wire to +12V, ...
