Re: Exchange window positioning

amifrog wrote: Mon Jan 11, 2021 8:06 pmAs Exchange probably scans its tooltypes already, there would be a place.
How can a tooltype help the user make a snapshot of the size/position of an already opened window?

Re: X5000 Booting to CLI

The thing with this keyboard is that I cant interrupt the booting process (keyboard will not work during boot) and enter Early Startup, but as soon as Workbench is started, the keyboard will work. Try waiting about 25 seconds after power-up (or reset) and then plug in the keyboard. This should be j...

Re: Exchange window positioning

We already have an enhancement request in Bugzilla to add the function menu button to the title bar, including snapshot.

I added a link to this thread.

Of course, the usual disclaimers about when it might happen or not apply :-).

But at least, you're not alone.

Re: Skip iprefs on bootup?

I was able to boot off CD by attaching my boot SSD to the 3112 card. Then I was able to remove the offending wb pref file. Great! My boot partition is priority 5 and the backup 4. You should probably try to keep all HD boot prios below 5 (i.e. 4 or lower), or you might have similar problems again. ...

Re: Skip iprefs on bootup?

What boot priorities have you set for your hard drives? Also, if you hold down a Ctrl key during startup, you should get it to start without the Startup-sequence. Then, if you remember the names of your various backdrops, you could try, from the startup Shell to copy one of the others to the name of...

Re: Ghost folders

Try "ls -ld MUTUAL" and "ls -ld 91dd*" and let's see what they show. I remember way back in pre-dementia days I used to know what "drwxr-x-r-x" etc. meant without looking it up. root@Fienix:/media/fienix# ls -ld MUTUAL drwx------ 2 root root 4096 Jun 18 2020 MUTUAL d s...

Re: RadeonHD & AmigaOS Cd

BTW, maybe an even easier solution would be to create a new bootable partition - 500MB or 1 GB is probably enough - and copy your current FE upd1 system to it. Then test if you can boot from that. Then you can apply update 2 to your current setup, while still having the fallback partition if you nee...

Re: RadeonHD & AmigaOS Cd

Yes, the AmigaOS 4.1 FE CD has a limited driver. It's called RadeonHD.chip and resides in Kickstart. If you didn't have that in your old setup, remember to also make a line for it in your KickLayout. But apparently you have the full driver on your current setup (same file, higher version). So why no...

Re: Ghost folders

Try "ls -ld MUTUAL" and "ls -ld 91dd*" and let's see what they show. The -l option is for a long listing, meaning including the permission bits (and dates), and the -d is for showing the directory itself instead of the files it contains (if you could). So the idea is to check if ...

Re: X5000 Fails to Boot Anything Now

New battery, 3.4V and no change. Okay, then at least that's ruled out. The MorphOS SSD has never been able to see the OS4 drive because of the NGFS or whatever its called it used. It can see it if I wanted to format it though. Right, that's all I was after, to make sure the drive wasn't completely ...
