Re: Help! Can't run anything...
Don't bother with the Quit menu item in Workbench at all, it is not necessary to use it (you're not running Windows ;-)), and even if you try, you will always only get the error message. It is a leftover from ancient times .... If you want to reset or shut down your machine, you can just wait a few ...

Re: Downloading OS4FE Update2 for X1000?
Can you see your registration of FE among your registered products on Hyperion's page?

Re: Downloading OS4FE Update2 for X1000?
I have a similar issue, but I believe I am registered (I'm running Update 1 already). Update 2 isn't showing for me, just the original 4.1 update 6 oddly. In that case, you're probably only registered for the original AmigaOS 4.1 release. You need to buy 4.1 Final Edition (€29.95) and register that...

Re: Turbotext problem with OS4FEupdate2
You're welcome.
I only wish we could figure out what is at the core of it.
I agree that given what Ranger tells you, it doesn't really seem to be a stack problem, but somehow TurboText must think it is.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to give up on it. Sorry.
Best regards,
Niels

Re: Turbotext problem with OS4FEupdate2
If it really does run out of stack with the system default stack, try raising the system default stack and see if that helps. Maybe Turbotext is using more stack than expected for the search operations, possibly specifically when running under 68k emulation? You can check the changes in the various ...

Re: Bug in shell/cli/console
Both observations (the second one being the "invisible" 1) confirmed also in latest beta.
Yes, I think it is at least partly related, but I'll let Tony comment.

Niels

Re: Turbotext problem with OS4FEupdate2
Okay.
That was also my initial thinking leading to blacklisting them all when the program alone didn't do it.
I'm not using TTX myself (other than for testing this), so I'm looking forward to your conclusion.
Best regards,
Niels

Re: Turbotext problem with OS4FEupdate2
Yes, I was thinking about trying various combinations of things being blacklisted or not. Thanks for getting ahead of me :-). I'm no expert on the matter, but maybe the reason for it happening specifically on the X1000 can be related to the fact that the X1000 has an Altivec module? Or other differe...

Re: Turbotext problem with OS4FEupdate2
Thanks. Since then I've discovered that the setting in the icon really doesn't matter much, as TTX seems to launch a new detached task anyway, which takes the DOS prefs default (here it is 64 kB). I've also found out something potentially more interesting: If you blacklist both TTX and the three lib...
