Re: PCI Card Position
Regarding the original question on PCI card position... a different position will mean that different memory addresses will be used per card in the amiga's (mediator's) memory address space. You should be able to verify this by using the Ranger program to look at each PCI card's memory and I/O infor...

Re: Can not write RDB to disk - error message in Media Toolb
If you don't have important data on the disks, you could try to completely reinstall the RDB first using OS3.9 and/or OS3.1 HDToolbox, and then afterwards reinstall the RDB using Media ToolBox in OS4.1. OS3.x HDToolBox can sometimes fix up the RDB section of the drive if something has happened to it...

Re: Belxjander - System (sam440flex) and Installation loggin
I concur with xenic's post regarding the modifications, and the other previous suggestions. Please if you can try a vanilla install on a new smallish partition (purely for testing purposes) to install from the base CD then apply the updates. From memory, the install script is not so complex for upda...

Re: Understanding and Optimization of OS 4.1 for Classics
Part of the reason for certain cards not working is due to the well publicised DMA workaround employed by Elbox in OS3.9 not being able to work in the design and implementation of OS4.x. How to determine which cards need DMA and will not work, or in fact would work but just need (compatible) drivers...

Re: Media Toolbox locks when reading scsi.device (RDB)
Hi But have found out if I use hdtoolbox in OS3.9 says that (RDB) must be updated if I do this and restart in OS4.1 I can again use Media Toolbox but I have to say no to update (RDB) as if I do I have to use hdtoolbox in OS3.9 again? From my observations, OS3.9 HDToolBox does not set Synchronous Fl...

Re: Understanding and Optimization of OS 4.1 for Classics
Elbox changes their actual Radeon card from time to time. Mine has the DVI-I and VGA at the bottom of the card so both ports can be used (non-functional TV-Out is blocked) and is a Mobility Radeon. Elbox literature says both 9200 and 9250, and also SDRAM and SGRAM. I asked them the clock rate of cor...

Re: Understanding and Optimization of OS 4.1 for Classics
Your radeon card may only have a DVI-D port, which is possibly why your DVI-I to VGA adapter does not work (It works on mine). Not loading all modules from the Kickstart would also conserve a little memory, but you don't want to do the wrong thing and end up with a non-booting system. Not sure how m...

Re: Understanding and Optimization of OS 4.1 for Classics
In my comment referred in the above post, when I said I used a mask for 24 bit memory for a CD driver, I meant in the mountlist/DosDriver file (which from memory is an integer flag value, but same end result as if using the Mask). To try to save memory, not sure how much, you might try reducing the ...

Re: Option to use ZorRAM as Fast Memory?
Yes, it is pretty good isn't it? Now if only we could replace the CVPPC with a memory card in that slot with 2GB of RAM and update the CSPPC firmware to add 768MB of that between $10000000 and $40000000 (what that space was designed for in OS3.1), and the rest as paged (or elsewhere in memory map if...
