Re: OS4.1 Booting from CD failed
Hi Flare, You can attach the logs to your post. It is possible there is a bug in the older MediaToolbox on certain hardware configurations... which is why I have asked a couple of times for screenshots of your filesystems installed in the RDB including Dostype and filesize (and version) just to conf...

Re: OS4.1 Booting from CD failed
You SCSI chain setup seems fine. My Cybppc is 44.67 but surely others are using 44.69. Probably remove any RDB scan (if set) for your CDROMs from the CSPPC menu. From memory, you might need to hit the return key after you enter the dostype when you add a new filesystem. Is it possible for you, after...

Re: OS4.1 Booting from CD failed
@ Flare Can we please take it from the top? I believe we are trying to delve deep without knowing whether your basic setup is correct. Please answer the questions from my previous posts (dealing with SCSI Chain and HDD RDB and partition setup): http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.biz/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: OS4.1 Booting from CD failed
Hi Flare, So FFS is the exact same results as SFS? Which SFS are you using? SFS/01? It boots from cold boot, but then on second reboot from os4 kickstart it hangs at splash screen? Please show us a screenshot of your filesystems installed in the RDB as well as of your partitions from media toolbox. ...

Re: OS4.1 Booting from CD failed
Sounds like potentially something may be going wrong in the RDB. Did you install the 68k version of SFS into the RDB with the correct dostype (and verified it was correct)? (This can cause your amiga's behaviour) When you say it keeps on rebooting, please state everything you observe including the t...

Re: OS4.1 Booting from CD failed
Here is some info on 7720UW firmwares causing problems: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=562917#post562917 v3.86 works for me. But I am guessing it could be some RDB troubles given your PC drive worked. If you don't care about the data on your drive you can try using the WB3.1 HDtooolbox to rei...

Re: OS4.1 Booting from CD failed
@ Flare Your setup does seem to be simpler and a subset of mine and danbeaver's, so hopefully we can help you get it up and running quickly enough. danbeaver made some good points: - Repulse is listed as incompatible with OS4, so you might want to remove that card in case it is the culprit - If stil...

Re: OS4.1 classic not booting after installation
@ Benny Did you check the advice regarding the filesystem in the RDB as per my earlier post to the OP in this thread? You mentioned the steps you followed, but before installation of OS4.1 the relevant recent versions from the OS4.1 CD for the 68k filesystem(s) should be installed in the RDB of the ...

Re: Understanding and Optimization of OS 4.1 for Classics
No - if you are to have narrow devices on your chain, I would recommend a 68-50 pin adapter with active high byte termination to go from your UWSCSI cable to your 50 pin cable. And then terminate the narrow part of the chain with a narrow active terminator. Do not leave the upper bits unterminated. ...

Re: Understanding and Optimization of OS 4.1 for Classics
@ danbeaver My CSPPC has an external terminator on one side with internal devices and an internal terminator on the other side. Do be aware that when mixing internal and external devices on the one chain you can encounter impedance problems resulting in potentially slower transfer or data problems. ...
