Re: Kernel 5.7
I didn't rebuild initrd.gz from scratch. But i modify it - I simply added modules from Xeno's 5.5.11 kernel to original initrg.gz: /lib/modules/5.5.11_A-EON_X1000_Nemo/* Well I didn't mean a rebuild from scratch. Just a rebuild based on modifying it. For myself I prefer to work on the KISS principl...

Re: Kernel 5.7
Yes, that's correct. It takes about 10 minutes to compile a kernel. I use ubuntu MATE 18.04 LTS x86_64 (GCC 7.4.0) for cross compiling. Thanks very much for the guide. I'm relieved I don't have to compile a ppc gcc like for OS4. The most powerful machine I have is an i5 laptop so I don't know about...

Re: Amiga Fast File System (AFFS or FFS)
Hypex, Thanks a lot for your answer. You're welcome. Funny enough, I only know this info because I was recently experimenting with it, and trying to work out how to detect Amiga device points from a script. I didn't think to post my findings until I saw your thread. I think I can figure out the ID ...

Re: Amiga Fast File System (AFFS or FFS)
I can only see my Amiga partitions including the labels (DH1, BDH0 etc) with parted . Do you know another tool for displaying the Amiga partitions with partition labels? There is amiga-disk. It can read an RDB and detect up to DOS6. But I can't see it display labels. Parted can display the labels o...

Re: Kernel 5.7
Hi All, Here is the RC5-2 of kernel 5.7 for testing. Hello. Just out of interest. How are you building these kernels? How long does it take? Cross compilation on fast PC? I tried to compile an XE kernel a number of years back on my X1000, I don't know how, but I distinctly remember it taking only 1...

Re: Kernel 5.7
Continue without modules doesn't work with new installer. But you help me - I put the modules to initrg.gz only (which is not works). I will try add them to .iso also. So you were able to modify and rebuild the initrd.gz okay? If it's of any help, I needed to use the following list of modules, when...

Re: Amiga Fast File System (AFFS or FFS)
Hi. I've been doing some FFS testing lately as it happens. I actually setup a DOS3 volume years ago to share data between OS4 and Linux. But I tested writing to a DOS3 volume and it was slow. Generally I find AFFS support is built in A1 kernels and don't recall having any major issues. However I hav...
