Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!
Some extra info, So I was able to boot the vmlinux-5.11 kernel directly from CFE with boot command. But it breaks from the X1Boot menu. AmigaBoot would take up some memory and when loading kernel there wouldn't be enough reserve left to hold it in memory. But AmigaBoot doesn't abort with any out of ...

Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!

FYI my boot command line was this: boot -z -elf -noints -nousb -fs=amigafs ide0.1,dh12:boot/zImage-5.11 I can check my kernel boot dir with this: dir -fs=amigafs ide0.1,dh12:boot My HDD is on the default 0.1 unit and though I wo...

Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!
Hi Here is my amigaboot menu with new linux boot menus Wow cool. You've really set it all up. Hope they all boot! :-P It must look strange seeing Linux entries in an AmigaBoot menu. :-D I do not think the file size is the problem here. 5.11 is 13909392 m. Okay I managed to boot it directly from CFE...

Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!
Here is folder x1boot/boot By the way what parameters is your x1 boot partition formatted. International, long filenames? x1boot2.jpg Thanks Peter That looks fine from here. This isn't mentioned but to load from AmigaBoot and indeed CFE the kernel size is limited to around 15MB or so like the old U...

Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!
Hi Hypex I opened cfe and entered setenv bootargs "root = /dev/sdc4" enter and entered boot -elf -noints -amigafs ide0.5: boot/vmlinux5.11 and enter. -amigafs wrong command Sorry forgot that about amigafs quirk. It's somewhat weird to me that it doesn't default to FFS or use a similar sho...

Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!
I successfully tested all 5.13 kernels on my X1000 but I booted them directly from the CFE. I tested again tonight and it must have been a glitch. 5.13 does work for me. But something has happened to my Fienix as it keeps booting in maintenance mode. Did you get a chance to test out X1Boot to see i...

Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!
Your set up is slightly more complicated than mine musa. I was booting Linux off USB for years and had these CFE menus set up. But then I found a GZipped image could be loaded off HDD which was good. Until I got my X1Boot working and simplified it with one AmigaBoot menu. So tonight I duplicated my ...

Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!
I realised after posting that that it won't matter if plug another amigaboot in the menu as it will look for all bootable volumes anyway. But let's continue on. I just did some digging. How many OS4 volumes do you have and what is your CFE variable amigaboot_quiet set to? Do you see AmigaBoot at all...

Re: Presenting the X1Boot Manager!
Hi Hypex How do you bring up the menu during startup? Hi musa and thanks for your interest. The menu should automatically come up in the standard AmigaBoot menu and look like another OS4 volume, except it will have the entry name you give it. The only thing I know to stop it would be a non bootable...
