Re: AmiGS cannot Print, because of missing "letter/A4" featu
@xenic If old programs don't create proper postscript I don't think it's an AmiGS problem. Correct, that's what I said. But new programs like MS Word donnot create proper postscript files either... it's not a bug, as I thought beforehand. It turned out, during this thread, to be a problem with lot o...

Re: AmiGS cannot Print, because of missing "letter/A4" featu
@xenic Well, I guess if your Postscript file is properly printed, you won't have a problem (so either via a proper ppd, printerdriver etc.). Nevertheless I didn't manage to create proper PS Files through Final Writer and other older programs. So it's more a question to make AmiGS and AmiPdf more fle...

Re: AmiGS cannot Print, because of missing "letter/A4" featu
By the way, the same problem occurs, when printing a pdf from Os4.1 included pdf viewer (using "letter" format). This is still really annyoing and must be fixed for the sake of good user experience.

Re: AmiGS cannot Print, because of missing "letter/A4" featu
O.k. got that bastard ;-) indeed it is not a bug... it is a missing feature or something handled in an inconvinient way. Seems that PageStream for PPC /MichaelMerkls Version is the only one which can create AmiGS compatible files in DIN A4 papersize . All other programs including Microsoft Word and ...

Re: AmiGS cannot Print, because of "letter" bug !
@abalaban There are quiet a few versions of PagesStream around...so Michael probably got a different PageStream Version + different ppd + different Postscriptprinterdriver. However, it would be interesting to see what the difference between our 2 Postscriptfiles are (both generated via PGS). We may ...

Re: AmiGS cannot Print, because of "letter" bug !
This is strange... Indeed, MichaelMerkels File is displayed as A4 (!) and can be printed. One the one hand it boils down to the file (even though I did not manage to create a Postscript file in A4 as Michael Merkel did - tried on all sorts of MS Windows based products and on Amiga stuff. On the othe...

Re: AmiGS cannot Print, because of "letter" bug !
Versions/Setup (sorry forgot...) X1000 running update6 and used live updater c couple of days ago AmiGS is 1.16 Postscriptfile(s) I checked several Postscript files, rechecked it, using a PagesStream PS file. I always used build in PS (file) drivers for printing. I did not print via Workbench Posts...

AmiGS cannot Print, because of missing "letter/A4" feature!
I brought this forward on german OS4welt.de a long time ago, and "Cyborg" confirmed this is a real bug. So I reopen it here: Use any "DIN A4" Size (210x297mm) Postscript Document (e.g. print from MS Word with DPS PS2file driver; print from FinalWriter into a Postscriptfile etc......

Re: Installing Debian: no keyboard
I did not read through all this, but I have got UBUNTU here. I did not had any problems installing it. I just made sure that a) Keyboard is plugged in the right USB port (as described in setup guide) plus b) it is NOT an Apple/MAC Keyboard. A very cheap simple TRUST Keyboard did the trick !

Re: Samba and OS4.1 Udate 6
@Raziel Well, I have got a complete SambaInstall here on WinXP/X1000 upd.6 (however, didn't fire AmiUpdate up for while though...). Samba Install was done via Samba4Idiots guide and I did not encounter any problems... up to now . Besides not beeing able to rename files on Amigashares via WinXP. Got ...
