Re: Welcome First Contact customers

Actually enjoy Ubuntu/Linux, AOS4.1 and the other flavors that the Amiga can emulate; don't be surprised that the X1000 can handle office related tasks, Cerfing the net, and streaming movies from your server. We have high hopes for bigger, better, and brighter features with the release of OS4.2!

Re: OS4.1 other problems

The SB128 in OS4.1 does not produce sound but somewhat processes the sound that enters it; on my A4000T there are two options, use the Amiga audio out to the mic-in with an external cable, or solder wires from the AV module and run them to one of the SB128 card inputs (I use the AUX leaving the CD f...

Re: Pcie ssd in x1000?

I'm guessing you mean an SSD drive (not card) attached to the Sil3114 PCI card, but as an SATA 1 interface device, I put my slower 1TB HDD on it (the add in Sil3114 card) as a large backup and use my SSD's on the sb600sata since it is an SATA 2 controller (I use one SSD for AmigaOS and one for Ubunt...

Re: Pcie ssd in x1000?

I don't believe it will work due to a lack of drivers for the card. The card has its own Raid controller and the four 55 GB SSDs built in. As an aside, the X2 version is pretty slow compared to an SSD on an SATA III interface.

Re: Why & Should CPU Core 2 be higher temp than Core 1 ?

I hate to add to the complexity of the issue, but thermistors actually "drift" with usage a few percentage points as the metals age, although this is usually within a defined percentage depending on the quality of their built staying (if all goes well) within 1%, 3%, 5%, or 10% of their ra...

Re: OS4.0 hdd booting problems

Yes, there is an error with the HDD setup and an improper RDB (lacking a bootable file system), or an improper partition (>4 GB) are the best guesses. Screen pics of the MediaToolbox in action would help with the diagnosis and treatment.

Re: BT Broadband wifi

Yes, a wireless bridge is an Ethernet-to-WiFi adapter; mine is a Zuni ZR301F that can be logged into and changed into a wireless bridge, wireless router, or a wireless extender. It cost about 30 USD a couple of years ago.

Re: BT Broadband wifi

Or a wireless bridge. I've used one on my X1000 without any problems; it is USB powered and has good range.

Re: Corrupt image in Printer Prefs Settings Tab

To see the problem, I had to switch to a 16-bit WorkBench and not all printers defined have this issue; I see it with the HP LaserJet, but not the HP Photo smart, nor the File. PostScript shows now image at all as does Generic. Could it be a printer definition problem and not the printer preferences...

Re: DiskImage

Well, I used it a few days ago and just now checked it and the version number (53.2) and it is working fine. I hate to ask, since you are a beta tester, have you checked your debug output on your serial port?
