Re: Bug in Screenmodes Prefs

For me, I can not create 320x200 resolutions since it changes 200 to 240 upon pressing enter. Most likely because 320x240 is the minimum size a radeon graphics card can display (640x480 on HD cards), on a classic just use NTSC or fakenative modes on newer machines, there is no need for a 320x200 sc...

Re: Dead X1000? :( [SOLVED]

In regard to your other questions, sometimes the power circuit seems to get stuck in an odd state and causes issues. Removing the ram and power connector then holding power to discharge seems to fix it. This is very rare though. Mine does this sometimes when I first turn it on, the mobo leds are ve...

Re: JxFileSystem Metadata problems?

@chris I'll confirm what sundown said, I was one who lost a full 600gb partition to a simple checksum error amoungst other lost partitions. I warned people not to use it but was ignored or repeatedly told jxfs is totally safe by those that never had a problem. If any of you ever bothered to read the...

Re: Dead X1000? :(

If one day you can get together a few quid for it, something like these might be helpful. I have one (not sure if it's the same brand, but the same principle at least) over my only hitherto unfiltered inwards fan, which has proven a really big help to delay the necessity of cleaning out the innards...

Re: Dead X1000? :(

Do you have any inwards-blowing case fans which don't have a filter on them? Or maybe some other place where unfiltered air is sucked into the case passively? Loads, I don't have the proper case as you've seen... no filters on anything and loads of ventalation holes. I don't even have the proper ba...

Re: Dead X1000? :(

Mine has aslo been misbehaving recently, I finally tracked the problem down the the ethernet can not being positioned correctly. Things to do before returning it... Remove the cpu fan and clean the heatsink, move was totally clogged with dust. Here's mine: http://i57.tinypic.com/kbolxd.jpg Remove th...

Re: X1000 Wiki Page

Nice. This should turn out to be a good asset to the community over time. On a personal note, one of things I would like to see is a step by step guide on how to create an up to date installation ISO. Done. Here is a good one: I had intermittent on-off problems where the motherboard sometime would ...

Yes he did take it in for repair (I met him the after he took it to amigakit), it was thought to be a problem with the CPU mount but turned out to be the bettery which is good news for all of us.

Re: X1000 Cell Battery

I changed my battery today as I'd been having similar problems so ssolie (not starting, just a dead blank screen cured by switching off the PSU for a few seconds, also CFE reboot loops. The battery was out for under 10 seconds andI didn't loose any settings. The only problem I had was a CFE error sa...

Re: DEVS:Mountlist-SOLVED

@LyleHaze The problem with that is most end users have amigaboot_quiet set to Y in CFE which means they never see the second menu where you choose the kickstart to choose to boot from and wouldn't use it as it adds 5 seconds to the boot time. @All Enter CFE and type:- setenv -p amigaboot_quiet N<ret...
