For Linux I would recommend one of the distros which has full 3D graphic card support.

The new Live Ubuntu Remix DVD which will be available soon as a digital download and printed DVD has full 3D support.

Tested OK with Ubuntu Live Remix & Radeon HD 4650. Very fast boot time.

Will now test with some other RadeonHD graphics cards.

I have not noticed this, but then I have not run Squeeze for quite some time. I will check it out when I get a chance.
