I agree with you Chris. The card is not faulty, it just has a horribly noisy fan.
This would not be an issue if the OS could exert some control over the fan speeds. As it stands, my X1000 is now known as the noisy microwave by my wife!

Is it common for MUI OWB not to remember passwords and log in details? I have to enter them everytime I log in at any site etc?

Yes I am blaming the X1000 complete system. I would like some OS based way of monitoring or controlling fan speeds. Maybe this is in the works? I am shocked at how noisy the X1000 is. My quad core 6850 based pc is virtually silent.

Such a low power consuming system like the X1000 should be able to run much quieter.?
Noisiest fan in my X1000 is the one on the 4850.

Hi, another question re the 4850. The fan sounds like a jet taking off. Is there any way monitor the GPU temp and automatically vary the fan speed? I know I can install a manual fan controller, but not knowing the GPU temp worries me. Can OS4 access the temp sensor on modern GFX cards? PS. Does the ...
