Have you tried to boot from the cd?

If so, did it show the devices (type info in a shell)...

also in the early menu box is systeminfo, try there to see more/

Did you prep the hard drive and format it?

Why uboot, The cd should boot to the install screen by itself...

In my x5000, I use a pci-e card CMI 8738 that I bought from AmigaKit.

I use the black ports more for my sense of ocd. (grin)

But I have found the upper black usb port works for me while usb booting (shrug)
