Re: Tuneup4: support for SCSI drives...?

No. It looks like the same misprint or "unprecise information" crept into the Update_4.guide as in the press release. The latter was corrected a few hours after the release, but obviously nothing could be done about the already released update and its docs. For historical reasons, the IDE driver on...

Tuneup4: support for SCSI drives...?

In the "Update_4.guide" included with Tuneup4 it is said: * New scsi.device patch for Classic installations which enables SCSI drives to be used for memory paging (SWAP). Is this true? On Hyperion's homepage only IDE support is mentioned... At least in my A4000T SCSI-drives connected to the native S...

Re: Iomega JAZ and OS4.1

It's late here and I should be in bed But I gather each device connected has a seperate scsi ID and its different from the controller ID? Yes, absolutely! Otherwise there would be problems also at the OS3.5 side... And the IDs are shown correctly in MediaToolbox/HDToolBox. One peculiar thing, thoug...

Re: Iomega JAZ and OS4.1

Firstly, what device are you booting off? I guess it must be the CSPPC SCSI? Yes. I have only SCSI drives and all of them are connected to CSPPC SCSI. Like this: ActTerm - CSPPC - HardDisk (IBM, SCSI-III) - CDROM (CyberDrive24x, SCSI-II) - Jaz (SCSI-II) - ActTerm I wouldn't worry about SFS until af...

Iomega JAZ and OS4.1

I am trying to configure a 1GB JAZ drive (CSPPC scsi/A4000T) to work with OS 4.1. So far I have got JAZ volumes mounted only via saving a DosDriver from MediaToolbox and using FFS as filesystem (or PFS3, formatted under OS3.5). Is there a way to get a JAZ disk automounted and to boot from it under O...

Re: HyperCom3+ and OS 4.1

You should also be able to remap parallel.device to hyperPAR.device Edit the Devs:NSDPatch.cfg Add the line DEVICE parallel.device UNIT 0 MAPTODEVICE hyperPAR.device UNIT 0 MACHINE=CLASSIC Could you report back if that works too. Thanks for your advice! Unfortunately that patch does not seem to hav...

Re: HyperCom3+ and OS 4.1

I found a solution to the problem! The original mountlist needed just one extra line which I 'borrowed' from the dosdriver for 'PAR:'. There was also one line which did not have effect anymore so I commented it out. I show the modifed list here: (It might also work with other HyperCom boards using h...

HyperCom3+ and OS 4.1

Is there a way to get the parallel port of HyperCom3+ (zorro) to work with OS 4.1? I have tried with the v. 2.98 driver set/Mountlist for OS 3.x, and the HPR: is mounted, but cannot be opened when I try to print e.g. from PageStream 4.1. Is there any fix for this?
