Conflict between lsi53c8xx and RadeonHD driver?
When I tested a Dawicontrol DC 2976 UW SCSI controller in a X5000, there appeared a serious problem... After Kickstart (including the lsi53c8xx driver module) was loaded, the bootimage was shown on the screen but the colors were distorted, and shortly after that the machine rebooted... This happened...

Re: 4.1 FE Radeon HD driver and Oland chip set
The OS4.1 FE CD pre-dates the latest RadeonHD drivers developments which is being continually updated. This will always be a problem. We are considering solutions. Would this solution work: Copying the contents of the 4.1 FE installation CD on other media and replacing the Radeon HD Lite driver wit...

Re: 4.1 FE Radeon HD driver and Oland chip set
The latest public release of the Enhancer Software v1.2 (Plus and Standard Editions) have the full RadeonHD driver with Oland chipset support. The 4.1 FE CD contains a restricted RadeonHD Lite driver intended for basic OS installation purposes only. It does not support Oland chipset support as it p...

4.1 FE Radeon HD driver and Oland chip set
Hello! Does the basic Radeon HD driver included with OS 4.1FE work also with the Oland chip set, so that you can do the installation of both AmigaOS and Enhancer Plus Software? I know that proper support for Oland has been added to the newest Radeon HD driver (2.21) , but it is not yet on the v. 1.1...

Re: Smartfilesystem v 1.293 ?
That possibility has indeed come to my mind... 0:-) But when I asked a week ago Alinea did not yet have X5000 in stock, either. BTW, where did you buy your machine? Or are you possibly a betatester...?Amigo1 wrote: Maybe you find someone in Germany buying it for you.. :->

Re: Smartfilesystem v 1.293 ?
Well, Alinea computer ( http://www.amiga-shop.net ) does deliver the enhancer software with their X5000 systems and mother boards. And their service and customer support is flawless! :) :) I fully agree! They are so far the only dealer who has at least ANSWERED my recent messages asking whether the...

Re: Block size revisited
the 4 KiB blocks should also be aligned to 4 kiB boundaries. Can you elaborate on what this means? There are also in this Forum two earlier threads about this matter: "SSD Hard disks and AmigaOS" (in General AmigaOS) and "SSD Trim support" (in Amiga OS feature Requests). You can...

Re: Block size revisited
AmigaOS does not (and will not) have TRIM support. I think you're being a mite pessimistic. Although it will take some enhancement of the device drivers, modern file systems will be capable of supplying TRIM data to the device driver so that it can tell an SSD which blocks are free. Admittedly ther...

Re: Block size revisited
Thanks, good to know. I have experienced *endless* problems with HDDs (both PATA and SATA) I have bought over the past 5 years. One of my partitions is now effectively read-only. When I build my X5000, I'll start from scratch with a new SSD I bought last month. Fingers crosses... Did you have all t...

Re: X-Surf internet connection
... xsurf.device does not work reliably on OS4. There is a file called xsurfpatch.lha somewhere out there on the net. It patches ariadneii.device to become an x-surf driver. It was made for MorphOS, but should also work on OS4. At least it does for me and my X-Surf 1. That information is not anymor...
