Wrong default block size for partitions
I have just started to install and partition my new and shiny X1000 with update 5 and found a bug. The partion maker (forgot its name) default the block size to 1024 which is not supported for JXFS and not recommended for SFS. This is a bug. FFS benefits from a larger block size but FFS is deprecate...

Re: AmIRC stopped working with update 5 - MUI problem?
I'm always using the newest MUI classes that YAM offers.
Just had a look in MUI:libs/mui/ and compared to what update 5 includes. Seems quite a bit less. Now I have removed everything that wasn't part of update 5, except NClasses for YAM and stuff then...

Re: AmIRC stopped working with update 5 - MUI problem?
Strange! Both 3.13 (old OS4 beta) and the newest 68k v3.6.1 show the same problem for me. And I have also started more instances which means they get new untouched MUI prefs, but still the same issue, and only with the chat string and the list, and only in AmIRC. YAM and all kinds of other MUI progr...

AmIRC stopped working with update 5 - MUI problem?
Hi! AmIRC http://www.amirc.org/ stopped working with update 5. There are two problems: 1. When typing something in the normal chat string and hit Enter, nothing happens. The string does not seem to trigger any event. However, the topic string works! So I can emergency chat by changing topic... 2. Wh...

Re: What this feature for??
T: should be assigned to RAM:T/ which it is by default. Only buggy programs would require T: to be on disk.Do rememeber to assing T: to DH1: or whenever outside the locked partition.

Re: CMI8738 audio not working on uA1 with 4.1u4? [SOLVED]
but if keepAHIopen allows me to use both narrator.device AND my OS4 AHI units, please let me know! I think the key here is to use the Mixer (in Utilities I believe) to set the volume of your sound card. Making sure all AHI units, including the Music unit, have a decent volume configured (like mediu...

Re: CMI8738 audio not working on uA1 with 4.1u4? [SOLVED]
Right! I use a tool to keep AHI open such that no application is allowed to change the volume. Then I use Mixer to change the volume, and since AHI cannot change the volume because of my app keeping the unit open, the Mixer settings are not forgotten, but remain permanent :-) Same must have happened...

Re: CMI8738 audio not working on uA1 with 4.1u4?
Strange. I have had a CMI8738-based card since about OS4.1 and it has always worked fine in my A1-XE, also with upd4. Have you checked the number of channels and the volume for the AHI units where you have CMI selected, and that output is what you expect (analog or digital)? I have CMI on Units Musi...

@ssolie
I must say I can't see the point of obsoleting such a basic function as AllocMem
It'd better come with a good explanation, such as the new function coming with memory protection

Re: Swapping doesn't work with update 4.
That is very useful information for the developers. I'm sure it is, and it has been available since update 3, only at that time I hadn't yet made this specific test tool that could isolate the problem this much. If there is any more information you need I'd very very happy to help out. I can't wait...
