Re: UBoot manual?
http://amigaworld.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=6464#87124 Quote from AW.net Won't be any U-Boot 2, as U-Boot stopped using version numbers back in 2008. The current release is v2012.07. Next release will be v2012.10 Anyway, I'm not sure anything has been added except for support for more pro...

Re: SCSI support
@vox Currently only cards utilising the lsi53c8xx-chip are supported under OS.4. Developer information for Adaptec is darn hard to get by (as read on many a Linux forum...). OldFart Is it by any chance any of these cards or they are way too modern? http://www.amazon.com/Logic-Controller-Lsi20160B-F...

Re: U-Boot fails to boot when using SCSI card
Did you try plugin such card in different PCI slot on the AOne? All Uboot versions you tried, showed same msg/error? Maybe the card is incompatible on A1. visit http://www.intuitionbase.com/comphard.php?category=7 maybe it helps Better question is are there any SCSI cards supported under OS 4? Adap...

Re: System (sam440flex) and Installation logging
Well I have a working system right now and only python and TimberWolf remain "broken" at all (I even copied all the Shared Objects from the complete update set installation as well) Glad its better, the way I would do it is to go all the way up to update 4, then archiving clean install so...

Re: PCI in PPC hardware
Only the Sam range are 3.3 only. As soundcards, you can use some Soundblaster Live! 5.1, some M-AUDIO cards and the ESI Juli@ for exemple. Silicon Image SATA and PATA PCI adapters, Radeon 9250, Realtek 8169, TV Card based on Conexant Cx2388 are 3.3 compatible. I'm sure other usefull and OS4 compati...

Re: Kinda disapointed, need to share my views
Much more joy to solve problems, then to just put things back to ebay. Well SAM boards are quite limited, and make many nerve breakdowns but then again, once you get the hardware setup right, OS is rock solid, hardware and OS hardware compatibility is other issue. Audio is kind of issue, as well as ...

Re: What this feature for??
When you lock a volume (see command C:Lock) you make a partition read-only. Windows does not have this feature for sure and that's why it is little known. Suppose you could use the NTFS file permissions to make the c:\windows folder read only, I dunno how well that would work in practice like :roll...
