Re: Boot speed up and recommendations for X1000 dockies
As to A), I just followed the instructions in the included manual, and for B) those dockies are on the OS4Depot web site for download and work fine for my X1000. Well, POff sometimes hangs... Thanks, beaver. Which one? CFE manual? Yes this is additional software, but as I did, you surely missed HDD...

x1000 advices - shaving off boot time
Hi fellow Amigans, X1000 boot time is not much representative, I do remember there was a thread (on AW.net?) on how to shave off boot time. I do remember most important find out to speed up boot was set pmu=A4 (switch to 1800Mhz), getting gfx card that initialize / change resolutions faster (any cha...

Which SSD for AmigaOS 4 - x1000 in my case
On that SSD topic, AmigaOS 4 requires some Trim free SSDs!? AmigaKit doesnt sell any, I would buy it locally for AmigaOS 4 only but I need to know which? Is one Acube sells only solution - even they dont have them in store? http://acube-systems.biz/index.php?page=hardware&pid=6 As much as I unde...

Re: Kernel 3.10
A new bug fix release is available: kernel-3.10.15-1-x1000-ubuntu-ppc64.tar.bz2 Screenshot: http://www.supertuxkart-amiga.de/amiga/ubuntu-live-dvd-x1000-thumbnail.jpg I have received Ubuntu LTS 12.04 with my X1000 and it seems it doesn`t have this kernel inserted. How to insert it in already instal...

Re: Modern WiFi Support
You mean, like this ? I was working with Curtis Holborn and Neil Cafferkey a long time ago to get the SANA-II standard ironed out so that such tools are even possible. One could always just hack into the h/w directly but that didn't seem like the right way to do it. I find people don't appreciate t...

Re: Modern WiFi Support
I assume that device needs no special drivers as it takes care of everything. Yes, but its very sad there is no visual indication of Wi Fi signal or being connected to the net overall within the OS. That must not be hard to do and is about time. You mean, like this ? Hans Yes, but that tool doesnt ...

Should I replace Ubuntu with Mint?
I do know LTS has most recent software installed, but I really dislike Unity (being MATE user on LinuxMint x64) and I suppose kernel and software can be inserted to Mint PPC 11 too. Since I do believe on single hard drive 3 Oss would be difficult to manage is it recommended to: - Start installing Mi...

Re: Welcome First Contact customers
Hi everyone, Another new X1000 owner here. Got my A-EON and Hyperion logins all sorted out, so I thought I'd check-in and say hello! I've had many Amigas over the years (A500, A3000, A3000UX, A1200, A4000) but this is my first NG Amiga. It been a while since I've played with Amiga OS and I'm lookin...

Boot speed up and recommendations for X1000 dockies
Dear Amigans, I recently recieved X1000 with OS 4.1.6 and Ubuntu LTS 12.04 Two set of questions: a) How to permanently set set pmu=А4 )to 1800Mhz) since it halves the Linux boot time and presumably AmigaoS 4 boot time? I believe I have read CFE has been updated, too? b) On AmigaOS side, I deeply mis...
