Re: LoadWB freezes completely with Update3
Two hardware things to check if you can. (1) graphics card (2) Power supply I had a faulty radeon 9250 and it caused problems with resolution higher than 1024X768x8 as soon as I installed update 3. It had worked ok until the O4 4.1 update 3 installation because I had even done a backup minutes befor...

Re: Using WinUAE to backup/restore SFS/00 Partitions
I do this too without the LHA for all my vital partitions. I save a copy to a NAS drive via FTP. Saved my bacon on Monday as I fried my Sams hardrive. Also my DVD drive would not work so I had problems reinstalling to a new hard drive. Was able to get the Sam booted from a bootable USB Flashdrive co...

Re: Using WinUAE to backup/restore SFS/00 Partitions
Are these versions available to non classic users ? Would be a lifesaver in cases where you have problems with booting a OS 4.x machine due hardware failure. Either to secure your data or to assist with the recovery of the machine. OS3.9 should have no problem seeing 4.1 partitions so long as the 68...

Re: SAM440 freezes using both ethernet ports
If You really need need two connections at the same time it is possible to add a PCI ethernet card. I had a gigabit card in My Sam-Flex for some time.

Ok. I was not trying to supporting him bumping the thread. But to point him in the direction of asking his dealer for support as they would be able to see if they had the same problems with similar configurations .

Re: Problems booting from external USB SDcard reader
It seems as if there is some kind of usb power reset or something after kickstart loads that caused the drive to be lost until OS 4.1 starts .

Re: 8 bit screenmodes not always working
He says Its a Sam460ex so there are not that many out there yet . The easiest thing to attempt to eliminate as the cause of the problem is the graphics card itself. He needs some help though as he does not have loads of spares parts or second computers around to swap and test. And may not be comfort...

Re: 8 bit screenmodes not always working
Looks like a problem with your Video Card then. Although you can never be 100 % sure unless you have another one to try. I once had problems with a new Radeon 9250 on my Sam-Flex which turned out to be a problem with my power supply. The card was a replacement for one that had gone bad so I was desp...
