Re: Low level access to X5000 realtime clock

So how did this mysterious beta tester and experienced user then solve the issue? Got his board replaced by A-EON? As he did not post his comment here but contacted me by PM, I considered it correct to keep his name secret...;-) If I undrerstood right, he is sitll using that defective board. It is ...

Re: Low level access to X5000 realtime clock

N0, I know it's a hardware problem, but after change the keyboard, the clock works fine. Which is the relationship between the clock and the keyboard ?, no idea, but it was solved by changing the keyboard. So I told Cyborg, if he can, try changing the keyboard. But in my case, the problem is presen...

Re: Low level access to X5000 realtime clock

@ Roland Ok, if you replaced the battery already with a fresh one, regardless of checking the voltage, it rules out that easy solution. Was just asking to be sure. I got the batteries checked, anyway... The original one was on the low side (even though it is still able to keep A4000T in time), but ...

Re: Low level access to X5000 realtime clock

Huh? What has your (Ribdevil's) USB keyboard issue to do with Roland's inability to set the hardware clock? I don't know, but the syntoms are the same. One more problem are, that the keyboard did not work during boot. Virginio If you connect again the problematic keybord and boot, is the realtime c...

Re: Low level access to X5000 realtime clock

Did you check the voltage of the battery? A new battery should read about 3.2V, a healthy battery still above 3V. If the voltage of the battery clearly drops below 3V it may well cause all sorts of weird behaviour. As a new CR2032 costs only a few cents, I'd replace it if in doubt, just to be sure....

Re: Low level access to X5000 realtime clock

For unknown reason, I have not been able to get the realtime clock of my X5000 running. Any 'user level' operation has not have effect on it (changing battery; Time prefs; Setclock; U-boot/Date ; Linux). Only the date stamp is saved ( e.g. Setcklock save) and can be read (Setclock load). In additio...

Re: Amiupdate: login in AmigaOSUpdateServer ?

You use the same login details that you use on the Hyperion website . If you have not created an account there the Hyperion website allows you to create one. http://www.hyperion-entertainment.biz/ Thanks! It works... :-) And I noticed AmiUpdate creates automatically a file named 'SiteList' where th...

Keyboard slowing down boot process over 20 secs

I noticed a strange thing when I tested booting without my keyboard connected... The X5000 booted over 20 secs faster without the keyboard connected than with it! And it was the boot animation which was affected: it run much faster when the Keyboard was unplugged. What was most pecular, disconnectin...
