Here TN doesn't hang as long as I do not open the tab with the volume control, VU-meter etc. It does stop occasionally streaming MP3, but then I can press play again. The frequency of that sudden stop depends on the "station" (server).

And there's the lcommand m shortcut to traverse the list of every open screen. Of course, if there's no suitable key on the keyboard and no gadget (upper right corner), that's annoying.
