Wrong, 8 chars changed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_8859-15

You have to use UTF-8 or an ASCII en-/decoding of unicode chars, anything else doesn't work.

Re: AmiDVD: Cannot write DVD/CDs anymore

AmiDVD refuses to write *anything* to DVD/CD. I'm getting SCSI command 28 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 20 00 failed sense: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 on every file/files/subdir/bin or whatever i'm trying. It's not trying to write but read something, "Create Image" in th...

Re: AmiDVD: Cannot write DVD/CDs anymore

FryingPan is outdated and not very much fun to work with (especially since MUI has been updated it's throwing a lot of warnings) so i'd really really like to see a bugfix. AmiDVD is small, fast and easy to work with I'll check the AmiDVD error, but you'll have to fix FyingPan yourself or find someo...

Re: filesysbox ntfs ubs massStorage problem

IIRC even though in programs the filenames may be displayed as if they were using the locale defined codeset the filesystems still always handle the filenames internally as if they are ISO-8859-1/ISO-8859-15 encoded when doing operations with them like case insensitive string comparison. No AmigaOS...

Re: menuboot_cmd

Arrgh, yes, i'm always forgetting the fix (which my board has) If a "fixed" A1XE really only works up to UDMA5, but not with UDMA6 and UDMA7, with a sii0680 controller don't replace it with SATA HDs and controller. With the PATA controllers you can limit the UDMA speed, with SATA controll...

Re: menuboot_cmd

Yes, i meant the PCI bus...and unfortunately it doesn't matter if you plug it to a PCI card that *can* work with those speeds as the bus will act up aswell once the data gets there. The 33 MHz PCI bus works in an AmigaOne XE, at least in an "unfixed" one, copying the errors from the µA1 c...

Re: .ct file version string

@joerg This error message seems to be for a bad version string in the .cd file OK, but I'm not feeding the .cd file to catcomp at all, I'm doing catcomp encoders.ct CATALOG encoders.catalog so why would catcomp report an error in a file that it doesn't even receive as parameter? Catcomp can't work ...

Re: .ct file version string

I have the very same problem with catcomp. My catalog translation file has ## version $VER: encoders.catalog 1.1 (8.3.2014) and when I try to convert the .ct into a .catalog, I get: ERROR: '$VER: encoders.catalog 1.1 (8.3.2014)' is not a valid version value As you can see, there are neither trailin...

Re: newlib's realloc() is using vast quantities of RAM

If it works out it may be a viable workaround for the time being. I don't think it will work, and the memory allocator in newlib can't be fixed as long as #4458 isn't added to the kernel. Chris' example is just the worst case for an incomplete (because of the missing kernel functions) buddy allocat...

The filesystem has to support it, ACTION_WRITE_PROTECT for old packet filesystems or FSWriteProtect() for new vector port filesystems, but I don't know any which doesn't support it.
