Re: First time X1000 Linux user
If I put the jumper on, what command can I type in cfe to see the drive list? Will root need reinstalled, or will the drive letter adjust to sdc1 itself? Seeing the drives in CFE won't help much, Linux will build its own list, but IIRC the command you need is 'show devices' You will not need to rei...

Re: Linux boot with UUID
Hi Dudes ;) Can I boot a LinuxInstallation with a UUID instead of an /dev/sdb1 ? This will be a quick reply as I am on the QM2 with only access to satelite internet (charged by the minute) I hope to have better access once I reach Scaramento next week. In answer to your question, yes, but not easil...

Re: ubuntu and new X1000
It is the live CD from Amigakit. I am being told the DVD wont work with this card but a fix may be coming soon. I'm not sure about all the kernel stuff, all the different commands to get something up and running. Linux is NOT my forte. Is there someplace that has a complete step by step for beginne...

Re: ubuntu and new X1000
I bought the X1000 with all the upgrades except a black case. I want to install Linux but cant. I even bought the brand new DVD but it didn't work. After starting the screen is supposed to go black and installation starts but in my case it stays black and freezes. AmigaKit told me it had something ...

Re: Logical Unit Addressing in Firmware
Hello again, Additional info from my AOS Media Toolbox: sata device 1st SATA 1 TB -LUN 0,0 2nd DVDRW -LUN 1,0 3rd SATA 1 TB -LUN 2,0 Forget what CFE reports, it numbers the ports differently as I recall. Sata ports are ide ports with a different connection, so exist as pairs of master/slave drives ...

Re: Logical Unit Addressing in Firmware
Hello Christian and to all! Okay, so, I had a crash after getting Ubuntu installed. Learnt a lot along the way of recovery. Found several mistakes I made during the system install of my hard drives via AOS. That being said, installing Ubuntu also made me look closely at the CFE/Firmware screen scro...

Re: Ubuntu Remix Install for R7 250x Cards
Hello again Christian, Okay I got the USB correctly formatted using Fat 2 GB. The Ubuntu Remix 12.04 boot splash did load! However, No HDMI Signal on my monitor and the monitor went into stand-by and the DVD Rom drive stopped after a bit. Goes no further. Better than the disc alone would do. Where ...

Re: Lubuntu Developmental Installation - Vivid Vervet 15.04
of course Just to check... Your last picture shows ext2 and ext3 not mounting sda6 due to 'unsupported optional features' These messages appear with ext4 filesystems, but I don't see ext4 mounting sda6. Are you trying to boot a ext4 root filesystem with an kernel without ext4 compiled in? It's some...

Re: R7-250X under LinuxPPC 3D KO
Hi, Just for info, I received a R7-250X and tested it under Mate 15.04 / Kernel 4.0. 2D works but no 3D. SuperTuxKart opens only a black screen and glxgears is very low. The R7 series use a Southern Islands chipset, 3D for these requires LLVM to compile the shaders. Both Xeno and I have tried, but ...

Re: ATI Drivers In Kernel?
ATI Drivers In Kernel? After a bout of Male Mentelpause I have lost my config file and kernel I was using on X1000. I have re-installed Mint 11 using the 3.5.7 kernel and need to build another custom kernel. I want to try 3.14.2 first but have forgotten which graphics firmware needs to be built int...
