Re: Insufficient memory CFE error on some cold boots
BTW I've been running with my PowerColor HD6850 installed all day and neither the back plate nor heatsink on the card is hot to touch (only slightly warm). I have not been performaing any major gfx operations but have been running a combination of AmigaOS 4 and Linux at various times during the day...

Re: What USB devices are available.
Hi All, Another X1000 user here, Welcome! and Enjoy!! Also can anyone tell me regarding the CF connector on the X1000 I know it can take a CF card but would it handle a compound devices with 64MB ram and an 80211b/g wireless network card? Thanks in advance. There is no driver for the CF slot under ...

Re: X1000 success with CruxPPC and MintPPC Linux Distros
Darren, thanks. I'll keep a watchful eye out for any development. A 6850 is my main display card in my X1000, but I also still have an older card in the machine feeding a second display. This explains why my Linux installs use the latter and not the former. Just to keep you in the loop, this is bei...

Re: NEW Debian/Linux Installation Guide version 2.1
Thanks for the Link Trevor. Mint may run better than Ubuntu. But right now it's all in vain. I'm afaird my Linux is all up the duff again. The other night I simply booted it up and experimented by compiling a kernel whick took the better half of an hour. However tonight I tried to boot up Linux and...

Re: 4850 on X1000 how should it be reported by Ranger?
Hi, My 4850 is reported by ranger as a Radeon m98 (?Mobile GPU) with 256MB of graphic RAM. The card has 1GB of RAM. Is this correct? If so why is it like this? Thanks. Not sure about the m98 thing, but all radeon HD cards report 256Mb ram to the system, this is so you don't lose too much of the 4G ...

Re: NEW Debian/Linux Installation Guide version 2.1
I found the Linux kernel doesn't like to start from the flash drive left in my Apple keyboard. The 39 kernel complains it can't mknod to a read only filesystem. 39NH gives ata failures and read errors. PW-1.2 also fails on reads end ends up in a kernel panic! Perhaps you should attach it somewhere ...

Re: X1000 success with CruxPPC and MintPPC Linux Distros
Good rundown of the distros. Hey, did we ever decide any of these Linux distros work with the Radeon HD 6850 card now? I wasn't sure and got more than a little distracted with AmigaOS. :-) I have the very same card you do, Trevor. I love that it takes up only 1 slot. Hope Linux likes it. At the mom...

Re: OpenGL support for Radeon 9250 PCI on X1000
Update Workbench and Ranger reports all 256MB avaiable. Trevor This will depend on which chip is on your Radeon Card. There are a number of different ones, most split 256Mb into 2 128Mb regions, these cards will only show 128Mb with P96. The same is true of Radeon HD cards which only have a 256Mb r...

Re: Printer for the X1000
I currently have no printer on my Amiga X1000. I am interested in hearing what printer solutions others have chosen for their X1000. Thank you in advance for your help I have a couple of Canon Inkjets that I use, at the moment I have an iP4200 attached, via USB. I also have a S600 which normally li...

Re: A-EON Website registration
@mbrantley For whatever reason it can be difficult to log in at the A-Eon site even with the correct username and password. I tried multiple browsers and operating systems even, typing the info in, pasting it in, etc. until I finally got in I am NOT able to log-in to the support section of a-eon.co...
