Well, I've removed my Soundblaster PCI card and the X1000 came to life again.... Frans I'm now having the same issue on my X1000 as xeno47. I don't think heat is an issue on the X1000. The PA Semi runs very cool, I think I've read that sometimes it is implemented without a fan in certain applications.
I believe the fan on top of it is only a precaution because of the value of the actual processor in case of a needed replacement.

Runinuae should be installed as an extra from your OS4 cd...
